Where’s the beef?

You may notice something about this site or rather the lack of something. The site has a “stripped down” appearance for a reason. I’ve developed it this way to keep the focus on the primary mission of the site:

To provide easily accessed, relevant information (that can help you now) so you can get back to work.

Accessible, Yes. Distracting, No

You do not start the day with the intention of excessive web surfing and yet it happens. Global Creatives can struggle managing distractions. The Internet is inherently distracting. Not a good set up for getting things done.

The purpose of many sites is to keep you there as long as possible. Websites attempt to do this by over stuffing the site with information and links. The unfortunate result: we find ourselves spending much more time than we planned doing ‘research’ on the web. This site is designed to maximize accessibility (very important) and minimize distractions.  The minimal links that are included are relevant to the mission of the site.

Get in, get the stuff, get out

You do not intend to procrastinate. I do not want to support this behavior. I want to support behavior that results in a sense of accomplishment at the end of the day. Therefore, the information is delivered in small chunks to be easily absorbed so you can get on with your day. Larger more memorable topics come in the form of a podcast. A great format to augment the G-C’s fallible memory. I encourage you to download these to your MP3 player to maximize accessibility.

Format

The podcasts are designed to stand alone accessible through Itunes.  For a more comprehensive approach you can also access the associated blog entries.  I’m particularly interested to hear if listeners find strategies to be helpful so please comment.
